It only takes a moment for Don Gibson, National Account Executive and General Contractor with American Technologies, Inc. (ATI), to nail down the reason he participates in the LAFD Invitational Golf Tournament benefiting the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund: LAFD Arson Investigator Michael Camello. “Fifteen years ago I worked in Orange and ran into Mike, who told me about this event.” He has worked with the LAFD Arson unit for the past 22 years.
Last year Don won first place in the golf tournament.
“It’s important to support organizations like this because the LAFD has such a huge job,” he says. “And they’re a great group. In a dangerous situation where most people are trying to get out,” he points out, “they’re the ones who are running in. Just like the military. You can’t get much better than these guys.”
Unlike the golf tournament, it’s no walk in the park handling scoping and planning for environmental remediation after a flood or fire. That’s what Don Gibson’s company, ATI, prides itself on doing well. He has been there for the last 15 of the company’s 25 years. He also hails from a family that he says has always been in the construction business. And he has always loved it.
