Create an Online Fundraiser
One of the best ways to help our firefighter heroes and their families is by setting up your own online fundraiser for our Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund. It’s quick and easy to get started, just use our GoFundMe page here to share a few photos, tell everyone what inspires you to raise money for our first responders in need and then start sharing it with your friends, family, coworkers and more!
You can set up a fundraiser in connection with a birthday party, retirement celebration, wedding or anniversary or even a fun, theme party such as a game or movie night, awards show shindig, costume, Halloween or other holiday gathering!
Competing in an athletic event such as a 5k or 10K, cycling competition, or triathlon? That’s a perfect vehicle for raising charitable donations in support of your efforts. People appreciate giving to those who give of themselves and feel inspired by those striving to achieve such worthy goals, like crossing a marathon finish line!
Setting up your own fundraiser for our Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund not only brings in much-needed donations, it also raises important awareness of our charity’s mission. Many people do not realize the hidden dangers firefighters face simply by going to work each day, such as the risk of cancer or lung disease and other illnesses and injuries. Each time you share your fundraiser with other people, whether it’s on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or via email, flyer, text, phone call or a good, old fashioned in-person conversation, you are reaching people our charity may not otherwise have the opportunity to engage. And that is just as valuable to our cause as dollars raised!
