Montrose Travel is your personal vacation advocate, offering exclusive professional planning with a personal touch. The company also advocates helping our heroes, which is why they donated three dining and travel packages to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund 2012 silent auction, an important fundraising element of the LAFD Invitational golf tournament.
The annual event at the scenic MountainGate Country Club features a day on the fairway, followed by silent and live auctions and an awards dinner. The whole affair remains one of the charity’s flagship fundraisers and Montrose Travel saw it as a great way to show their support for those who risk it all to save others.
“Montrose Travel not only donated three fun ‘Dine & Go’ travel packages, they worked with us when we were putting together two big vacation packages for our live auction,” said Jody Houser, Widows & Orphans Auction & Internet Marketing Specialist. “Vacations are always hard to come by for charity auctions, so we are very grateful for Montrose Travel’s support.”
For Montrose Travel, the donations are a way to say thanks. “I cannot begin to tell you the sense of respect and pride that I as community member have for these men and women who do these jobs,” said Isabel Burcher of Montrose Travel. “Police and firefighters alike, they put their lives on the line daily.”
Montrose Travel has grown from its inception into a $140 million travel management company with more than 150 employees. The company has also won numerous awards-most recently, Travel Weekly’s 2012 Gold and Silver Magellan Award. Plus, the company’s commercial division specializes in business travel management with programs designed to help companies control and reduce business travel expenses.
Most of all, Montrose Travel prides itself on being a family-owned company that cares about the community. With the donation of the dining and travel packages, Montrose helped the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund ensure firefighters and their families can get the assistance they need.
“Our children, our schools and business are being watched and cared for by these local heroes,” said Isabel. “Knowing that our homes are safe, they are close by and just a phone call away-we are very lucky to have them and I hope that we are always fortunate and blessed to have them as part of our community.”
