Community Giving

Trust Company of the West

Trust Company of the WestFor some, giving back starts close to home. When executives from Trust Company of the West first learned about the charity serving the firefighters of Los Angeles, it was a natural fit. The company came on board as a sponsor of the LAFD Invitational golf tournament.

Vice President Michael Stevens emphasizes the importance of local ties, “TCW has been located in downtown Los Angeles for over 40 years and we place great importance on giving back to the community. We are more than happy to support the local heroes in the LAFD. Firefighters and their families are critically important to our city and often sacrifice a great deal for the benefit of the entire community.  The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund is a great cause through which we can honor and give back to the men and women who work so hard to keep all of us safe,” Michael said.

TCW learned about the fund from Beacon Pointe Advisors, an investment advisory firm to the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, the umbrella organization that runs the charity.

“The LAFD Invitational is a great event that brings together a wide range of people from the entire L.A. community.  We are very pleased to sponsor this event, and have had a very positive experience as a first-time sponsor.”

The company believes in philanthropy and supports many charities. “TCW recognizes how fortunate we are that so many people and institutions both here and around the world place their trust in us.  So we feel it is important for us to give back to the communities in which we operate.  As a firm headquartered and with a long history in Los Angeles, we support a number of organizations that work to strengthen the L.A. community,” Stevens said.

Trust Company of the West is a global asset management firm managing a wide variety of investments for clients that include corporate and private pension plans, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and more. Find out more at www.tcw.com.
