Please note there will only be the SEA portion of the Charity Challenge this year.
All Charity Challenge participants will start together at mile 13 (Staging is at Sunset & Orange Grove) and finish in Santa Monica.
8:30 AM (in monitored waves every 5 minutes). NO runners will be allowed to start before 8:30 AM. Runners will merge in to the marathon course from the left, and will be released in timed waves. Runners who start before the authorized time will be disqualified and not eligible for any Charity Challenge competitions.
Getting to the Start:
Runners will report to the start line at the corner of Sunset Blvd. at Orange Grove Ave. in Hollywood no later than 7:30 AM. They have the following options:
- Shuttle from Santa Monica (The shuttle departure times are 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM. Make sure you are not boarding earlier shuttles that will be heading to Dodger Stadium.) Shuttles will depart from in front of Santa Monica City Hall.
- Please make your shuttle reservation during online registration. If you did not make your shuttle reservation online or wish to change shuttles, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Change of Information” in the subject line and your desired shuttle time and location in the body of the email.
- Get dropped off (must approach south of the course, runners can be dropped off on Delongpre between Odgen Ave. and Orange Grove Ave).
There will NOT be a gear check option for the Charity Challenge. Please consider running with a small waist belt to hold your necessities.
The “Sea” finish is the same as the main finish line of the marathon at Ocean Ave. and California Ave. in Santa Monica. Runners will receive the Charity Challenge finisher medal in the finish chute, and then proceed to get water/food, Heatsheets, and other amenities.
