The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund is the proud recipient of an incredibly kind and generous $100,000 donation from GRoW @ Annenberg on behalf of Mr. Gregory Annenberg Weingarten, Vice President and Director of the Annenberg Foundation. It is with deep appreciation of all our valiant firefighters do to make our city a safer place, including bravely rushing to the frontlines of several 2019 firestorms that swept through Southern California.
GRoW @ Annenberg, founded and led by Gregory Annenberg Weingarten, is a philanthropic initiative of the Annenberg Foundation. It is dedicated to supporting humanitarian efforts across the globe as well as innovative projects in health, education, the arts and civic & cultural life. With the belief that every person deserves respect, dignity, and access to opportunities to achieve his or her own greatest potential, GRoW @ Annenberg supports organizations and leaders promoting these values.
It is only through contributions such as this one that our L.A. firefighter charity is able to carry out its mission of helping the families of firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty or facing other crisis. These brave men and women in uniform dedicate their lives to serving the community, often at great risk, and do so without expecting anything in return.
